20th anniversary of the TOCATI festival, September 15-18, 2022

The TOCATI festival celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2022. This great international festival is organized by the AGA Verona, Associazione Giochi Antichi (Association of Ancient Games), with the help and support of many other public and private structures: Verona City Council, Ministry of Culture, Province of Verona, Veneto Region (Venice), private companies and of course associations and federations of traditional games and sports without which there would be no TOCATI festival. Let’s not forget the hundreds of volunteers who work in the shadows during the festival so that everything goes for the best.
XXI Ordinary General Assembly of the AEJeST

Next Saturday, September 17, the XXI Ordinary General Assembly of the AEJeST will take place in Verona, in which the participation of more than 40 associations is expected. The meeting coincides with the celebration of the twentieth edition of Tocatì, Festival Internazionale dei Gicohi in Strada (September 15-19).

52nd Board Directors of AEJeST

On May 7, 2022, the 52nd Board Directors of AEJeST meeting took place in Almunia de Doña Godina (Spain). Activities under 9 team projects were discussed, the results of the work of the AEJeST Council Board members were presented, as well as an action plan for the near future. The next AEJeST meeting (General Assembly) will be held in September 2022 in Verona (Italy).

AEJEST GENERAL ASSEMBLY

From 21 to 24 October took place in Svetvinčenat, Croatia, the meeting of the OPPORTUNITY Erasmus+ project partners, the 5th International Pljočke Festival, the General Assembly of AEJeST, as well as the Extraordinary General Assembly where the new Board of Directors for the period 2021-2025 was elected. The 21st and 22nd were mainly dedicated to the OPPORTUNITY Erasmus+ Project. There were meetings of the participating partners and workshops on traditional games and sports with various schools in the area, as well as demonstrations of the game of Pljočke adapted for people with different disabilities. Both activities were well attended, not only by the participants but also by locals and tourists who were even able to take part in the games.
Another highlight of the programme was the international scientific conference held in the main hall of Svetvinčenat Castle. It focused on the role of traditional games and sports in the development of local communities in the context of sustainable tourism.

Dear family of the AEJeST, I am sending you this text to thank you for the trust placed in me and in the people of the new board of directors for the period 2021-2025. In the voting held on October 23 in Svetvinčenat (Croatia), we received a very extraordinary support from the members of the AEJeST.
We Start the mandate with 81 members in AEJeST. To all the members, I would like to thank you for this support received and to say that during the next few years we will continue working intensely and with all our enthusiasm to make it possible for the AEJeST to be a network of networks in favor of traditional games and sports and of the members who represent them.
Long live the Traditional Games and Sports!!! Long live the AEJeST!!!

Dear members of the AEJeST/ETSGA,
Today 18/07/2018 the AEJeST has lived a historical experience; for the first time ETSGA has participated in an online General Assembly (GA) through the virtual platform Blackboard Big Collaborate. I thank once again the institutional support of INEFC for having enabled a specific space in this platform for AEJeST and for helping us to carry out the GA online.
Nearly 50 participants from 11 countries; guests from the African Traditional Sports and Games Association, also the presence of a colleague from Mexico; consecutive translation into English, French and Spanish. We developed 11 points on the content sent in different emails integrating a dossier with around 125 pages of information. The GA has been democratic, it has allowed us to vote, to admit new members (individual and collective), to recognize persons and associations who are examples of good practices and to show the richness of the great family (community) that constitutes the AEJeST.

On 5 May 2020 we announced the suspension of the General Assembly to be held in August in Brittany due to international health alarm. We also informed you of the Council of Administration intention to hold this Assembly by videoconference.
Our legal advisor, Mr. Vicente Javaloyes, informs us that French legislation (our association is registered in France) gives validity to the convocation of the General Assembly using new technologies as long as it is held before 31 July, the final date of the state of alarm in France.

Dear colleagues:
As a result of the international health alert caused by COVID-19, the Lorient Inter-Celtic Festival has been suspended. For the same reason, the FALSAB Confederation has resigned from organising the General Assembly planned for August 2020 in Brittany, coinciding with the 90th anniversary of its foundation. Supporting FALSAB’s decision, the AEJeST Council of Administration agreed in its last meeting, to suspend definitively the AG2020 in a face-to-face way, and to consult the legal adviser the possibility of calling it on line at the end of the summer giving validity to its agreements. However, in the event that the agreements of this online GA are not valid, the CA will propose an online meeting of all the members, on an experimental basis, in order to know its functioning in case it is considered appropriate to include its future use in the Internal Regulations.
