International “palet” competition in Italy

In Brissogne (Valle d’Aosta, Italy) the second meeting of the national teams was held in “palet”. With the participation of national teams from Italy, Croatia and Slovenia. All teams are made up of eight players. Competition in three categories: single game, pairs and trios. After interesting matches Italy won with two victories, Croatia was second with only one victory and the third place was awarded to the Slovenian team.
The event showed that there is a great desire among players of traditional games for competitions between them.

General Assembly of l’AEJeST

The XVII General Assembly of l’AEJeST took place in Mechelen (Flanders) on July 6, 7 and 8. On this occasion Sportimonium & Vlaamse Traditionele Sporten (VlaS) were the entities that organized the meeting. The General Assembly, in which more than 30 associations of l’AEJeST have participated in person, was held on Saturday, July 7. The President’s Report was presented at the Assembly, and the actions carried out to date were highlighted and the future challenges were pointed out. The different points of the meeting were discussed below: actions of international projection carried out, economic balance, participation in European projects, AEJeST magazine, main actions of the different projects corresponding to the strategic plan of the AEJeST.

XIV TRADIJOC brings together more than 350 schoolchildren in Batea

On Thursday, May 24, Batea hosted the fourteenth edition of TRADIJOC (encounter of 1st ESO students of Ribera d’Ebre and Terra Alta). During the day, the students, accompanied by about fifty teachers, had the opportunity to play more than 25 traditional and popular games of the previously mentioned Catalan regions. TRADIJOC is organized by a working group formed by teachers from the participating educational centers of the region and with the collaboration and support, among others, of the cultural association Lo Llaüt, which is part of the AEJeST.

First Slingshot World Cup – Italy 2018

From 21st to 24th of June 2018 the small town of Gualdo Tadino, near Perugia – Ombria, will host the first world slingshot championship, organised by the FIGeST. More than 200 players from all over the world are registered to compete. On the opening day of June 21st works are planned in order to create an international slingshot federation.

Traditional games “Krestovskie kulachki”

In the historical precinct of Krestov Brod in the city of Roshal, the so-called “Krestovskie kulachki” games were held. These were organized by Ethnosport Federation of Russia and the Regional Organization Knights of the Ring. The programming included, among other competitions, the traditional Russian fight zavorotok and the game Rusmyach (Russian ball).

Nicu DOBRE informs us that Oina will be introduced to the Faculties of Physical Education at the proposal of the Oina Federation. An important percentage of these faculties has accepted to organize Oina courses for the future students of Physical Education teachers.
This year there will also be a traditional sports competition organized by Oina that will receive the name of “University Championship”.
