SUPPORT FOR THE CREATION OF THE ASIAN SPORTS AND GAMES ASSOCIATION TRADITIONAL (ATSGA)

Yesterday 31st July 2021 AEJeST was present as a member of ITSGA supporting the Asian colleagues for the creation of the Ad-hoc Committee that will be in charge of the corresponding actions to create the Asian Traditional Sports and Games Association (ATSGA). Guy Jaouen, President of ITSGA and Vice President of AEJeST, together with Pere Lavega, President of AEJeST and Vice President of ITSGA were supporting this initiative.

We continue to move forward in favour of a network of networks without borders.

Signature of the collaboration agreement between AEJeST and the Korea Traditional Culture Center

Today AEJeST has been involved in a very special event. Mr KIM Sun-tai President of Korea Traditional Culture Center the Korea Traditional Culture Center (KTCC) and Mr. Pere Lavega, President of the European Traditional Sports and Games Association(AEJeST) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding between KTTC and AEJeST.

L’AUCA DE JOCS D’ASCÓ

L’auca de jocs d’Ascó was published last April, a new publication on the games and toys of the cultural association Lo Llaüt, member of the AEJeST since 2011.

The book, written by Biel Pubill, professor of history and physical education at the Flix Institute, reviews the leisure activities that appear in the famous auca –image poster- Jochs d’infantesa -Games of children- (1674) of folklorist Joan Amades, collected and published in 1947 under the name Jocs de la mainada – Children’s games – reinterpreting many of the games that appear there and contextualising them in the streets, squares and natural environments of Ascó (Catalonia).

PROJECT   ERASMUS+   TRAWECU

From June 25 to 28, the city of Šabac in Serbia hosted the first meeting related to the TRAWECU project. Šabac is a community of 120,000 inhabitants 50km west of Belgrade.

Publication of a book on “COLLAR & ELBOW”, the traditional wrestling of Ireland

The author is Ruadhan MacFadden, an Irish independent researcher in cultural anthropology who has practiced many martial arts. This 216-page English-language book explores the history of the Collar and Elbow style, its popularity in the 19th century, its strategies and techniques, how it was deeply integrated into rural communities in Ireland (see table of contents).

The AEJeST has reached its 20th anniversary!!!!

The 28th of April 2001 was a great day for the Traditional Sports and Games. After fifteen years of common experiences and many reflections, half a hundred people from several European countries met in Lesneven-Brittany-France, and agreed to create the European Association of Traditional Games and Sports. Guy Jaouen was elected President, the statutes were drawn up in Santander on 1st November and finally, it was registered with the Prefecture of Brest on 8th January 2002.

2nd European Forum TSG

The Organising Committee (AEJeST + INEFC) has already confirmed the 14 associations that will participate on 14 and 15 May 2021 in the 2nd European Forum of Traditional Games and Sports.

It has also confirmed the participation, on the opening day, of Mr. Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, President World Ethnosport Confederation y M. Joseph Rashidi Salumu, President African Association of Games and Traditional Sports.

He will be joined by Dr. Pere Lavega (President of AEJeST) and Dr. Eduard Inglés (Director of INEFC) to open the meeting.
