AEJeST Ordinary General Assembly

by Biel Pubill Soler in Meetings

On 5 May  2020 we announced the suspension of the General Assembly to be held in August in Brittany due to international health alarm. We also informed you of the Council of Administration intention to hold this Assembly by videoconference.

Our legal advisor, Mr. Vicente Javaloyes, informs us that French legislation (our association is registered in France) gives validity to the convocation of the General Assembly using new technologies as long as it is held before 31 July, the final date of the state of alarm in France.

CANCELLATION OF AG BRITAIN 2020

by Biel Pubill Soler in Meetings, Festivales

Dear colleagues:

As a result of the international health alert caused by COVID-19, the Lorient Inter-Celtic Festival has been suspended. For the same reason, the FALSAB Confederation has resigned from organising the General Assembly planned for August 2020 in Brittany, coinciding with the 90th anniversary of its foundation. Supporting FALSAB’s decision, the AEJeST Council of Administration agreed in its last meeting, to suspend definitively the AG2020 in a face-to-face way, and to consult the legal adviser the possibility of calling it on line at the end of the summer giving validity to its agreements. However, in the event that the agreements of this online GA are not valid, the CA will propose an online meeting of all the members, on an experimental basis, in order to know its functioning in case it is considered appropriate to include its future use in the Internal Regulations.

ITSGA – Election of the Council 2020 – 2023

by Biel Pubill Soler in Meetings

The ITSGA – International Traditional Sports an Games Association – has renewed its Council members. The last general meeting had taken place in Coimbra and Lousã, Portugal at the end of 2015. In 2019 two meetings had been scheduled for a general meeting, Iran and Tunisia, but the usual difficulties (visas, and travel funding) had postponed the agenda. It was during the December 2019 meeting in Tunisia that the decision was taken to organize the electoral process by email. The Council was therefore elected by all the member organizations in March 2020, the 19th. Then a deadline was given to the presidential candidates to present their candidacy and a work plan for the period 2020-2023. Only one candidate, Guy Jaouen, former president, presented a work plan (discussed individually with all the Council members). The election was held on April 21.

by Biel Pubill Soler in Information

Dear AEJeST family

There are days when the sun doesn’t dare to rise and the birds don’t sing.

A few weeks ago we lamented the death of Bernard Glacial, a friend of the Traditional Sports and Games in general and of the Boule de Fort in particular. The pain of that moment was transferred to his family along with a bouquet of flowers.

Dear family of AEJeST,

At this moment, we are living a painful, serious and very delicate situation for our environment: the coronavirus Covid-19 is associated with problems of health, economic and also family discomfort situations.

Let me address you as ambassadors of the TSG and the values that they provide. Democratic relationship with others, solidarity, empathy, optimism, altruism and resilience… are some of the principles that you practice regularly, in Europe and in the world.

I encourage you now more than ever to try to apply these principles in your closest environment, to help people be as happy and optimistic as possible and better people.

On behalf of the Council Board, I would like to take profit of this message to send you a sincere hug and a lot of positive energy. Remember that you are not alone, we form a great family and I am sure that at this moment we are mentally prepared to overcome this difficult match.

I am convinced that together we will reach the end of the darkness of the tunnel thanks to the light that the values that TGS bring us. We are sure that in the near future we will have the opportunity to continue sharing the treasure, the heritage that keep us acting as a team of teams, a network of networks.
