Between April 20 and 22, the European Association of Traditional Sports and Games, as a member of the Opportunity European Project, has participated in the meeting of partners in Coimbra (Portugal).
During this meeting, on 5.21.22, it signed a tripartite agreement with the Lousa and Vilarinho Parish Council and the Lousa School Group in favor of safeguarding the Parish Games.
The AEJeST witnessed the XVII edition of the Parish Games in Lousa (Portugal), promoting traditional sports games as a tool for inclusion. The European Opportunity Project promotes traditional sports games as an instrument to promote social inclusion, gender equality and care for intellectual disabilities. Through this Project, an APP has been designed that will allow assessing the positive impact of traditional games on social inclusion, with attention to gender equality and intellectual disability. In Lousa, and as a first, the first results of this APP were obtained.
