On May 19, the sixteenth edition of Tradijoc (meeting of 1st year ESO students from the Ribera d’Ebre and Terra Alta counties) took place in Móra d’Ebre (Catalonia). The objective of this meeting is to live and get to know each other, for a day, practicing traditional games of the area.

Inauguration of the first Sports Center dedicated to traditional games and sports in Croatia

Croatia on July 9, 2022. On the occasion of the opening of the first sports center dedicated to traditional games and sports in Sv. Petar in Istria, Croatia, a match of the national teams was held in ‘pljočkanje’. The opening ceremony was attended by several high-level authorities, including the State Secretary for Sport of the Republic of Croatia and the Vice President of the Istria Region. The competition was held for the first time in 2016 and, after a two-year break, brought together the national teams of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy and Slovenia. This time, Italy celebrated victory ahead of Croatia.

1st edition of the competitive Brittany Games (C’hoarioù Breizh)

The Sports and Games section of the Cultural Institute of Brittany, in coordination with the Federation of Gouren and the International Federation of Celtic Wrestling, created an international festival in 1990, called C’hoarioù Breizh. Guy Jaouen and his team, delegated by the 3 organizations, was the coordinator.

Publication of the book:  Indigenous Sports & Games

This book has been published by ITSGA in collaboration with AEJeST. Its objective is to propose in English language the debate on the place and the societal role of Indigenous sports and games in the society of tomorrow, that one which will have to be built after the climate crisis. The texts are those of well-known sociologists, historians and anthropologists on this subject. The book will be given at international meetings.
