European Shooting Championship

With a magnificent organisation, from 27th to 29th May, the XVI European Ball Shooting Championship was held in the region of Hamburg (Germany), in four modalities: on road, bow, ramp and on grass, male and female. The event was attended by teams from several countries: Holland, Germany, Italy and Ireland, and a delegation representing the AEJeST as a guest. There was a warm welcome and a great rapport between all delegations. As the Italian ABIS team belongs to FIGeST since 2018, and therefore the AEJeST, our association was also represented in sports.
Despite the bad weather, with intervals of rain and cold, on Saturday there was a large and enthusiastic public who could enjoy the marks achieved. On Sunday, with the weather improving, the fans who came to watch the competition crowded the 2 km race. Most of the time you could sense where the ball was going because people were moving out of the way. As on the previous day, the marks obtained were spectacular, with some throws exceeding 200 metres. It is worth mentioning the excellent participation of ABIS, which despite not being expressly its modality, had a remarkable participation.
On the part of AEJeST, the possibility of sharing agreements and projects is open, according to a conversation held with Aloys Timmerhuis, President of IBA, being summoned for the month of November with a proposal of collaboration. Representing the AEJeST was the vice-president Fernando Maestro, accompanied by Felipe Gonzalo, from the Aragonese Federation of Traditional Games.
