The AEJeST has reached its 20th anniversary!!!!

The 28th of April 2001 was a great day for the Traditional Sports and Games. After fifteen years of common experiences and many reflections, half a hundred people from several European countries met in Lesneven-Brittany-France, and agreed to create the European Association of Traditional Games and Sports. Guy Jaouen was elected President, the statutes were drawn up in Santander on 1st November and finally, it was registered with the Prefecture of Brest on 8th January 2002.

These were the 21 founding members:

2nd European Forum TSG

The Organising Committee (AEJeST + INEFC) has already confirmed the 14 associations that will participate on 14 and 15 May 2021 in the 2nd European Forum of Traditional Games and Sports.

It has also confirmed the participation, on the opening day, of Mr. Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, President World Ethnosport Confederation y M. Joseph Rashidi Salumu, President African Association of Games and Traditional Sports.

He will be joined by Dr. Pere Lavega (President of AEJeST) and Dr. Eduard Inglés (Director of INEFC) to open the meeting.

It seems that April is a very special month for AEJeST. TODAY we have experienced a historic event since FOR THE FIRST TIME AEJeST has been the ONLY European organization invited by the European Commission (Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture) that has participated as a SPEAKER in the second European online seminar. This time the theme was The New Erasmus + Program (2021-2027), Challenges and Opportunities For The Traditional Sports And Games’ Online Meeting.
